Madeline Hartman
Designer
As an Urban Designer, Madeline supports the work of the firm by participating in design charrettes for new communities, reviewing submissions for construction in walkable neighborhoods and cities, and designing landscape plans and monuments for Civic Spaces.
Since she started with the firm in the summer of 2024, Madeline has prepped for, participated in, and followed up on multiple charrettes including the West Weber Master Plan in Utah, which recently won an ICAA John Russel Pope Award, and a variety or developments in Taylor Texas where MWA works as an urban design consultant for the city, helping developers comply with the city’s plan to grow sustainably in walkable, mixed use components. Her work in these projects consists of analyzing and diagramming site conditions, drawing and CADing walkable plans, and creating booklets for clients that clearly convey designs and code compliance. Madeline has also spent much of her time at the firm reviewing construction submissions for clients MWA serves as an urban design consultant for. These submissions cover the entire built environment from architecture, to traffic studies, to Civic Spaces. Her work on these have, on occasion, called for redesign of Civic Space giving Madeline the opportunity to create landscape plan alternatives for developments like Norton Commons and Utah City.
In 2024, Madeline earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. In addition to architecture, she pursued a concentration in Furniture Design and in her free time she loves to continue to learn by sketching beautiful places and architecture around DC.
