Brennan Kelly

Designer

Brennan has been a designer at Michael Watkins Architect since his graduation from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Architecture in 2024.  He previously interned with MWA in the summers of 2022 and 2023, gaining a passion for urban design and crafting the public realm.

Since joining the team full-time, Brennan has worked to design neighborhoods by participating in charrettes in Amarillo, Texas, Whitestown, Indiana, and most recently, Weber County, Utah, which won an ICAA award in Urban Design in 2025.  His work consists of diagramming plans, drawing plans both by hand and in CAD, preparing project books, and critiquing proposed homes in neighborhoods where MWA acts as Town Architect.

He previously earned 3rd place in a team design competition for the Villa Chigi in Rome in 2022, revitalizing the property to incorporate a wedding venue, concert stage, and public and private gardens.  Outside the office, Brennan spends his weekends painting local urban spaces and architecture; he brings what he learns through those paintings into the office and incorporates them into his designs.  He hopes to become a licensed architect and is currently working towards that goal.
